Survivor is back, and this time the 16 American contestants will be battling it out in The Australian Outback for 42 days, all vying for the grand prize of $1million. At the beginning of the show, the 16 are split into two tribes - Kucha and Ogakor. In the first 3 days in the Outback, Debb begins to get on the nerves of her fellow islanders with her attempts to take control, while Kimmi's over-eagerness to have fun grabs Jeff the wrong way, and Keith and Jerri clash almost immediately. With a Panamanian military escort, three motorboats shot across the sea, each holding a tribe of past Survivor contestants. 10 Ultra fans head off to the Rock Islands of Palau, Micronesia to face ten former castaways. The new castaways arrive with no idea that they will be facing the former contestants, breaking into two separate tribes.

A castaway in search for the hidden immunity idol, collects a pile of random items in hopes that one will be the missing object. Todd makes plans for getting James eliminated, while seven of the contestants arrive at tribal council, confident that they will be staying.

The tribes merge into one, Jacare. Jenna and Heidi strip naked in an attempt to gain food items during a challenge and Alex struggles with Shawna's departure.

A last minute revelation by a castaway prompts an all-time high in paranoia between the contestants. A castaway feels vulnerable during the final Immunity Challenge and schemes to make it to the final three. Another castaway is maddened by a friend when they is made to look bad in front of the jury. The final three are left accountable for their actions as the jury decides a winner.

The Rewards Challenge has the contestants running through a maze of ropes collecting a bag of puzzle pieces at the eight stations. Once a bag is found they must deliver it back to the table. After all the bags are found then a puzzle is to be constructed of an eight point rose. The winner will receive Immunity guaranteeing their spot in the finals. The Immunity Challenge has the contestants up on a perch above the water. With each players perch fitted to their shoe size, no one will have an advantage. Every 15 minutes a piece of the perch is removed. The winner is also guaranteed a spot in the finals.

On Savaii, Jim sees that Ozzy and Elyse are spending too much time together and knows that a couple is dangerous. So he approaches Cochran for a plan to get rid of Elyse to which Cochran jumps on board. The next morning on Upolu, Brandon regrets losing his cool in front of his tribe and goes around apologizing to his tribe mates. He also tells Edna that she is not part of the tribe's main alliance and could be next.Later, Edna tries to beef up her social game, butstarts annoying all the women on the tribe. Back on Savaii, before Jim leaves to witness the Redemption duel, Ozzy mocks him, telling the others he is thinking too much about strategy. Before the Immunity/Reward Challenge, Jim and Cochran don't think they have the numbers in order to vote out Elyse but find out that Dawn is interested. But their plan will have to wait when they win the Immunity Challenge. Upolu return to their beach after the challenge and Stacey is confident she performed well, but is still in danger before Tribal Council.
